We had an amazing show on Friday night at the Foreman’s home. Elissa, Zack and Jacob filled the house with potential campers, and we were so happy to meet the Kuci, Ellis and Landy families all of which have signed up and will be coming to Camp Highlander for the first time this summer. Welcome to the Highlander family! And thank you Elissa, Zack and Jacob for your support.
We’ve got just a week left in Florida then its back to North Carolina then off again to Georgia! Check out our travel dates if you’re interested in seeing us on the road!

What a great time we had last night at the Ross family’s home. We got to meet several new campers to Camp Highlander, and catch up with Carlynn and Kennedy. There was also a very intense pool game between Kennedy and Gaynell…which Kennedy won! Great job Kennedy!
Thank you to the Ross family for their constant support of Camp Highlander. It means so much to us!

Well Karl, Gaynell and I made it to Florida. We had a great show on Tuesday night at the Whitaker’s home, a family that attended camp back in the 70s when it was Camp Blue Ridge. Now there grandchildren will be coming to Camp Highlander. We are down south in Fort Lauderdale and will be traveling for the next few nights all over. Check out our schedule for details. Remember you are always welcome to contact camp about attending a show and bringing new friends and family to hear about camp.
The camper reunion is schedule for January 25th at Sugar Sands Park in Boca Raton. Stay tuned for details about times and activities for the day.
We’ve also announced show dates in Georgia and North Carolina as well. These will be on the website soon!

I am looking forward to sunny Florida because it is getting chilly up here.
Its been busy in the office these days with all of you applying for next summer. Don’t forget returning campers that you need to register before October 15, 2008 to lock in the 2008 rates and guarantee a spot for next year. At the rate its going, our sessions look like they will close even earlier then last year.
We are hammering out the dates for the Camper Reunion and Alumni Gala and will announce those soon so keep a look out. Also the Fall Campfire Quarterly will be out on October 15! Make sure to update your address with us if its changed from the summer.

Well its definitely getting cooler up here…and as Karl and I drove around the mountain today we noticed the leaves changing. I promise to post pictures like last year.
Things have been busy in the office. All of you enrolling for 2009 already!!! Its sure to fill up faster then last year at this pace. Remember you can apply online or download a paper application and mail or fax it to us.
Karl and I will be meeting Gaynell in Florida on September 22nd, but there will still be someone in the office to answer questions!

Don’t forget returning campers that you have until October 15, 2008 to sign up and secure the 2008 rates!!!! You can apply online or print an application from our website.
CIT candidates…the CIT application is also available online now. The application and 2 letters of reference are due in the Highlander office by December 15, 2008. If you would like us to send you a copy of the application just give us a call or email us.

Well we are heading on the road leaving our beautiful mountain to start our tour a little early this year. Check out the link on our home page for a list of our Florida tour dates. We’ll be announcing additional show dates in Atlanta, North Carolina and Louisiana in a few weeks.
Our thoughts are with all of our camp families in South Louisiana who are misplaced because of the hurricanes. We are thinking of you and let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
