Camp Highlander is excited to announce a new trip this summer. Each session we will be taking campers 12 and up to the United States National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. This 400 acre outdoor recreational center, is home to the world’s largest recirculating river. Activities include whitewater rafting, flat water kayaking, mountain biking, climbing wall, mega zip wire, climb to zip and much more!
Cost is $195 (includes transportation, ticket, snack, lunch & dinner) To sign you child up contact the camp office.

We are happy to announce the books for this summer’s 2010 Camp Highlander Book Club. Campers or staff can join us every Camper Choice Wednesday during 3rd period in the library to read and discuss. The final book club meeting of each session will be a party in the library where we watch the movie based on the book. Hope you’ll join us!

Though the cold weather has kept us indoors, we’ve kept very busy. Most recently we’ve been up to our elbows in boxes of old photographs of camp from the 1960s and 1970s. We’re embarking on a big project to get these photographs organized and displayed throughout camp this summer. The largest display will be in our Lodge, where we are giving the middle room a face lift to accommodate the numerous framed photographs and photo albums. We hope you will enjoy taking a walk down Highlander’s memory lane as much as we have.
